This Nachni Satva Chocolate Cake is one such creation — rich, moist, and packed with nutrition from ragi flour (nachni satva).

Whether you’re baking for kids, family gatherings, or just your evening chai, this cake is a wholesome treat that brings health and taste together.

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • 2 tbsp flax seeds
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 cup + 2 tbsp jaggery
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 cup chocolate (dark or milk)
  • ½ cup wheat flour
  • ½ cup ragi flour (nachni satva)
  • 1 tsp coffee powder

Step-by-Step Method

1.Make the Flax Egg

Grind flax seeds into a fine powder, mix with water, and let it sit for 5–10 minutes until gel-like. This works as a natural egg substitute and adds extra fiber.

2. Prepare the Chocolate Base

Melt butter, jaggery, milk, and chocolate together on low heat. Stir until smooth and glossy.

3. Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a bowl, combine wheat flour, ragi flour, and coffee powder.

4. Combine Everything

Add the flax egg to the chocolate mixture, whisk well, then fold in the dry ingredients. Mix until you have a lump-free batter.

5. Bake

Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Pour batter into a greased tin and bake for 25–30 minutes. Insert a toothpick — if it comes out clean, your cake is ready.

6. Cool & Serve

Allow to cool before slicing. Serve as is, or with a drizzle of chocolate sauce for extra indulgence.

Health Benefits of Nachni Satva (Ragi Flour)

Using nachni satva (ragi) in baking makes desserts not only tastier but also healthier. Here’s why it’s a great choice:

Rich in calcium – supports bone health

High in fiber – aids digestion and keeps you full

Packed with iron – boosts energy and heemoglobin levels

With jaggery replacing refined sugar and flax seeds adding Omega-3 goodness, this cake is a power-packed dessert that parents will love serving their kids.

Tips to Get the Perfect Texture

Use dark chocolate for a deeper, richer flavor.

Don’t overmix the batter — it can make the cake dense.

Add chopped nuts or dry fruits for extra crunch.

For an even healthier twist, replace butter with coconut oil.

💡 House of Khau Tip: Bake this cake as a weekend treat or even as a birthday cake — kids won’t even realize they’re eating something healthy!
